Attention
Making meaning out of the noise.
When did our attention become so fragile? As screens, notifications, and interfaces compete for every spare moment, sustained focus becomes increasingly difficult. This work explores the rhythms of distraction and concentration, inviting reflection on what can emerge when attention is maintained, what falls apart when it is not, and the impossibility of holding everyhing together at all times.
As words scatter, flicker, and attempt to reconstitute within the viewport, this kinetic Haiku maps the quiet friction of holding presence inside a screen designed entirely to dissipate it.
Attention is such exhausting work.
Hold your cursor near a line to maintain its focus and clarity; looking away lets the verse drift, dissolve, and come apart.
Proximity-based detection sustains nearby letters' legibility by raising their attention value each frame.
Neglected lines slowly drift and fade as entropy rises when attention falls below threshold.
Near-white canvas background (off-white, ~252) with dark ink (near-black, ~20) renders stable, high-contrast letterforms.
